What is Speech Pathology?

Speech Pathology is a branch of allied health dedicated to developing and supporting communication in all its forms.

Everyone has the right to communicate and be understood, and our job is to support our clients with this – whatever that looks like for them.

We support people of all ages to communicate with confidence, build connections and participate fully in life.

We believe in holistic, client-centred and evidence-based care. With more than 60 years’ combined experience in our leadership team, our Speech Pathologists work closely with families, carers and allied health and education providers, to consider a client’s overall needs and maintain consistent goals and strategies.

Speech Pathology builds skills & knowledge around:

Language

The words that we understand and use, and the way we construct sentences.

Speech & Fluency

The sounds we use to form words, and our speed and confidence in communicating.

Voice

How we use body parts such as the larynx to make the sounds we need to communicate.

Stuttering & Cluttering

Repetition of sounds, words or phrases; and concerns around conveying messages clearly.

Augmentative/ Alternative Communication

Also known by the acronym AAC, these include strategies and tools to supplement or replace spoken languages.

Who is it for?

We support children, young people and adults with diverse communication styles, strengths, identities and goals, tailoring our approach to what matters most to each person. We welcome neurodivergent individuals (including those who identify as neurodiverse) and people with intellectual disability, brain injury and developmental differences.

We help private clients, NDIS participants, and those accessing Medicare-funded services like Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plans and M10 items for stuttering (eligibility criteria and gap fees apply).
