Lutheran Care is pleased to welcome Speech Pathology back under the Elcies brand, strengthening the range of specialist supports available through Elcies and creating an even more connected service offering for clients and families.
As a result of a strategic review of Lutheran Care’s allied health, disability and psychology services, our Speech Pathology service will rejoin Positive Behaviour Support under the Elcies brand, creating a clearer and more cohesive service offering while supporting closer collaboration across our allied health and disability teams.
Better Self Psychology will continue as a standalone psychology service, reflecting its established identity and specialist focus.
Importantly, while the branding is changing, the things that matter most are not.
Lutheran Care’s Chief Executive Officer, Ian Byrne, says, “Clients will continue to receive the same high-quality support from the same trusted teams, in the same locations, with the same commitment to helping people achieve their goals”.
“This is simply the next step in the evolution of our services and ensures they are presented in a way that best reflects how they operate today and supports their future growth.”
Lutheran Care’s Executive Manager Commercial Services, Adam McCallum, said the review was a timely opportunity to make sure our program offerings are where they need to be to be of much benefit to our communities.
“Since Lutheran Care first established its Positive Behaviour Support service and expanded into Speech Pathology and Psychology, these services have continued to evolve,” he said.
“As they have grown and matured, it was timely to review how they are structured and presented to ensure they remain easy for clients, families and referrers to navigate.”
The review identified a strong alignment between Speech Pathology and Positive Behaviour Support and the opportunity to strengthen how these services are presented to clients, families and referral partners.
For many in the sector, the Elcies name will already be a familiar one. Reintroducing the brand provides greater clarity across our services while reinforcing Elcies’ focus on person-centred, neuro-affirming and strengths-based support. Elcies was launched in 2022, as a play on the Lutheran Care initials: LCs.
Its flagship Positive Behaviour Support service is a therapy-based approach, which aims to increase quality of life for people with disabilities experiencing Behaviours of Concern (BOC) at home, school, work or in community environments, supporting clients and their families in the greater Adelaide Metro and Barossa Valley areas.
Operating as a profit-for-purpose service backed by Lutheran Care, Elcies offers speech pathology across the lifespan, with services available through multiple Adelaide locations, telehealth, Medicare and the NDIS, together with specialist expertise in areas including stuttering and cluttering.
The change reflects the continued evolution of Lutheran Care’s allied health and disability services and positions Elcies for continued growth while making it easier for clients and referrers to understand and access the support available.

Clients have been notified, and over the coming weeks there will be updates in signage, documentation and our web presence as Speech Pathology is transitioned to Elcies.
